BIOGRAPHIE

Artist

French hyperrealist painter, graduate from the National School of Decorative Arts of Paris, Patrice LARUE is an outstanding technician and a talented colorist. He  knows how to use a technic to reveal an emotion and an atmosphere that gives his canvases motion and life

THE PAINTING

I have read somewhere that psychoanalysis allowed one to renew one’s desires,

So: get to the point, transfer all the “crutches” that make us look.

It is also the search of the painter: To draw the anecdotes,

fashions, fakes, and skills.

To pose the right look, then the right gesture, and only him

A psychoanalysis may perhaps end, the painter’s quest, no

I work !

NEW YORK

If Paris is a pretty bourgeois indolent, sensual and elongated,

New York makes me think of a big black muscular, overpowering, busy and standing.

I did not really like this city but I have a real pleasure to paint this

Vertiginous vertical vitality

OIL

Oil is history, that marvelous transparency or crust that painters have spread on canvas since the Renaissance.

This simple matter that we take so long to master

And finally this material that smells so good of linseed oil and turpentine!
